Star Frenzy: Amitabh Bachchan & Aishwarya Rai In A Fan-Made Randamoozham Trailer
Malayalam film Randamoozham, a cinematic adaption of the eponymous novel, is reportedly being made on a whopping budget of Rs 1000 crore and fans have already begun visualising the project with the cast of their choice. See the trailer below
No sooner is a film announced, fans begin waiting with
bated breath for the project to hit theatres. South, as we know, incites more
passion. Shrikumar Menon’s upcoming film adaptation of the novel Randamoozham
is a classic case in point.
Randamoozham, penned by M. T. Vasudevan Nair, is a retelling
of the Indian epic Mahabharata from the perspective of Bhima,
the second Pandava. Last month, it was announced that the cinematic
retelling will be produced by B. R. Shetty, a UAE
businessman, with Mohanlal portraying the central
character Bhima. A few days later, rumours started
flying thick and fast that Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are all
set to essay the roles of Bhishma Pita and Draupadi respectively.
That has now driven a die-hard Tollywood fan to even
make a trailer comprising his/her desired cast! The trailer portrays Amitabh as
Bhishma Pita, Aishwarya as Draupadi, Mammootty as Yudhisthira, Mohanlal as
Bhima, Vikram as Arjuna, Allu Arjun as Nakulan and Ram Charan as Sahadevan. The
fan has skilfully fused action-packed stills of the actors from their previous
work against the backdrop of war. Like for one, Aishwarya's 'scenes' are set
against the back drop of her Jodhaa Akbar shots. And mind you, it is 3-minutes
long! Talk of wishful thinking!
Interestingly, Bachchan’s spokesperson had denied the rumours of him being a part of
the mega project, said to be made on a mammoth budget of Rs 1000 crore.
An official statement from him reads: “We would like to
deny this news and state that Mr Bachchan is in no capacity associated with or
a part of the film directed by Mr Sreekumar. Any news or story reporting
otherwise is false and incorrect.”
And if you
didn't agree that star frenzy in Tollywood is more than that in Bollywood,
maybe now you will.
